System covering made of 4 mm thick, thermally hardened white glass from the Upper Palatinate Forest (Germany) with outstanding transparency. This covering can be combined with all parts of the Bakelit and Duroplast switch systems that have a central insert (switches, push-buttons, sockets, junction boxes) and is intended as the external piece of a multi-part installation. System coverings can be installed flush next to and below each other.
Single coverings are also available.
Installation note: The wallpaper must not be thicker than 0.5 mm in order to comply with all VDE regulations and standards. Therefore, the hollow wall boxes must be installed neatly so that the plastic disc with a thickness of 1 mm is flush with the wall. The construction of our switches with white glass coverings requires a different installation process than usual: the electrician installs the inner workings and the plexiglass ring. Then wallpaper is hung over the fully connected switch, and finally the coverings are attached. If you want to mount several individual coverings next to each other, you have to take this into account when placing the boxes; in this case, 20 mm spacers are necessary. When installing system coverings, the centres must be exactly 71 mm apart. We generally recommend the Kaiser range of hollow wall boxes, which also includes the appropriate spacers.
