What is a microinverter?

A microinverter is a device that converts the DC voltage produced by a solar panel into AC voltage, which can be used directly in a household as 230V.

Solar panels are connected directly to the microinverter, eliminating the need for a central inverter. This also provides a fire safety advantage as microinverters can be switched off from the circuit breaker and the DC voltage never exceeds 60V. In addition, a microinverter also works as an optimizer, meaning that shading on one panel will not affect the output of other solar panels. By optimizing, the best results are achieved by switching shaded solar panels out of the circuit.

Each solar panel works independently of others and activity can be monitored in real-time through a mobile app or website.

Microinverters have several advantages compared to central inverters:

  • Better energy efficiency;
  • Greater resistance to shading and uneven panel wear;
  • Better monitoring capabilities;
  • The ability to install panels in different directions and angles;
  • Higher safety level;
  • Modular design that makes the system easier to maintain and expand.
A solar park with microinverters provides maximum results at the lowest cost, as a string inverter with optimizers always costs more overall. Microinverters are suitable only for immediate electricity consumption and feeding the surplus back into the grid. The microinverter solution does not support energy storage.

Note: When using microinverters, there is no need or possibility to perform DC measurements, and no electrical installation audit is required.

  1. Safety - maximum DC voltage of 60V and electrical current of 12A.
  2. Optimizers - the optimization interface is already built in. Better performance in shaded areas.
  3. Price - microinverters always cost less than an inverter + optimizer!
  4. Expansion - the system can always be easily expanded, as cabling is at 230V.
  5. Monitoring - each panel can be monitored separately and its productivity tracked.

NB! Additional information on the necessary measurements and audit can be found in the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority's electrical installation audit guidelines.

How much does it cost?

The quickest way to get a price is to use our solar panel calculator. The calculator gives an approximate price. It is also reasonable to use microinverters when building solar parks, as shading on the panels and panel monitoring is definitely a topic to consider.

TSUN microinverters

TSUN microinverters are small devices that make solar panels more efficient. They are installed beneath the panels and convert the alternating current into direct current, which allows them to be used in the existing electrical grid.

With microinverters, the energy produced by each panel can be better monitored and optimized, which increases the overall efficiency of solar panels. They also help to avoid energy losses that can occur when panels have different ages, orientations, or shading.

TSUN microinverters have several advantages over traditional string inverters. Because microinverters are installed beneath each panel, faults or problems affect only one panel, not the entire system. Microinverters also increase safety because they allow for individual control of electricity production on each panel.

In summary, TSUN microinverters are efficient and reliable, helping to optimize the use of solar panels and increase their overall efficiency. They are easy to install and provide safety in electricity production, making them an ideal choice for both residential and large commercial buildings.

Mikroinverters also function as optimizers.
