In the Estonian climate, artificial lighting plays an important role – natural daylight simply isn't sufficient, especially in autumn, winter, and spring. Well-thought-out lighting solutions give a home character and create a pleasant atmosphere.
LED strips have become increasingly popular. LED strips are suitable for every home – indoors and outdoors. Generally, they are used to create mood lighting, but it's also possible to choose a more powerful LED strip that provides general lighting.
Teenagers usually prefer RGB and RGBW LED strips in their rooms, which can be controlled via remote or wall panel. The selected light tone can be static or flashing.
Adults, on the other hand, prefer to use LED strips both for creating mood and for practical purposes simultaneously. It's very popular to add lighting under kitchen countertops, perimeter lighting in living rooms, and lighting in sauna steam rooms. In the latter case, it's important to ensure that the maximum height is behind the backrest (due to heat).
REMEMBER:
• When choosing LED strips, make sure the product has the correct IP rating. Since LED strips heat up, they need to be installed inside aluminum profiles for cooling. A profile cover is also needed for protection.
• LED strips require a power supply. Therefore, consider where to place these power supplies – but certainly not inside the wall or between insulation. The power supply heats up and needs air around it.
• Also, consider how you want to control the LED strip: with a wall switch, remote control, wall panel, etc.? Do you want dimming capabilities?
LED strip installation involves several stages: first, install the profile, then stick the LED strip inside it, connect it to the power supply, and then to 230V. Finally, make sure to install a cover on the profile.
