To become an electricity producer, you need to obtain confirmation from Elektrilevi regarding the suitability of the grid for selling back capacities. All power plants with a capacity of less than 500 kW are considered small producers. Producing your own electricity offers benefits that help save money you would otherwise have to pay for electricity, and additionally, you can sell surplus electricity to a suitable electricity broker. If you wish to establish a power plant of up to 15 kW, Elektrilevi will provide a grid offer within 60 days. If the desire is to establish a power plant over 15 kW, Elektrilevi will provide a grid offer within 340 days. Owners of detached houses are advised to start as micro-producers, whose production capacity is a maximum of 15 kW. Individuals who are micro-producers do not have to pay taxes on surplus electricity.
To receive an electricity producer connection offer, you must submit a connection application on the Elektrilevi website. If you do not know what information to provide to Elektrilevi, please contact our customer service, and we will assist you promptly.
Since the end of 2017, a large number of electricity producers have already connected to the Elektrilevi distribution network, and this number is constantly increasing. The presence of renewable energy support is one of the main factors promoting the construction of new power plants and playing a significant role in the connection of electricity producers within the national renewable energy policy framework. While connecting as an electricity producer to the grid can be a complex process for large plants, in the case of residential solar power plants, the installer typically takes care of this, handling all necessary documents, and the customer only needs to provide a few digital signatures. Connection fees for smaller solar power plants (10-15 kW) are low compared to larger developments.
